In the early months of 2006, a small group of students led by one teacher, banded together to create the Orchard Park Robotics team.

Led by Computer Engineering teacher, Stanley Hunter, the team looked to the future. Too late to join the 2006 First Robotics Competition, the team instead focused itself in preparation of the 2007 season.

In the summer months of 2006, the then nameless team, known as Team 2000, received its first taste of competing in a robotics competition. The small team competed in the 2006 Wonderland Invitational, where the team finished second overall, and won the X's and O's Strategy Award, and the Ramp Racer Award. Although still in its infancy, the team was off to a great start.

Fast forward to fall of 2006. The team had grown by leaps and bounds since its inception early in the year. The team had grown from barely a dozen members to over two dozen. It was then, that we decided on our course of attack for the coming year. Officially renamed OP Patriotics, the team announced its intention to compete in the 2007 FIRST Robotics Competitions.

Today, Team 2056 competes in FIRST sanctioned events throughout southern Ontario and the USA. Our team has become a model of efficiency, led by Mr. Hunter and our mentor Tyler Holtzman, we look forward to years of success.
