As the 2008/2009 school year is uppon us, Team 2056 is proudly getting ready for our Third Season in the First Robotics Competition. We will be looking forward to January when the new game will be announced, and we are doing all we can. We would like to thank our current sponsors, especially HWDSB, CNC Woodcraft, and The Winona Men's Club for making this experience possible. We would like to welcome our new Grade Nines who are taking up the team and would like to wish everybody a great school year and a new FRC Season!!! Team 2056 Finishes their Second Year in the Semi-Finals in Indianapolis. Team 2056 went to the Indiana Robotics Invitational where the "Egos Come To Play." After great qualification matches of 5-3-0, the OP Patriotics hoped to be picked to go into the eliminations. We were picked in the second round by Team 16 The Bomb Squad out of Mountain Home, Arkansas; and Team 1114 The Simbotics out of St. Catharines, Ontario. Even though we were tipped and Team 16 had mechanical difficutlies, we advanced into the Semi-Finals, but bad luck stayed with us and Team 1114's radio was accidentaly unplugged stalling them for the match. Then in our second Semi-Final, we used a faulty battery and our robot didn't run the entire match. Even though we were beat out in the Semis, Team 2056 is still proud of our great achievments against the best of the best in Indianapolis, Indiana.
